The most beautiful sky....

was seen in Pigeon forge today!  The sky was such a beautiful blue with white fluffy clouds.  We enjoyed the holiday weekend at a friend's cabin in North Carolina.  On our way back home we stopped and spent the day enjoying the pool at Cinematastic View.

This sweet note was left by the guests who enjoyed our cabin for the holiday weekend:
This made all of the work that we have been doing so worth it!!
If you are thinking about booking a stay with us, we would love to have you as our guests!

Down Time + Friends/Family = Fun Times

So, you have spent the day shopping or hiking or riding go carts.  Dinner is over, it is getting dark and....now what?
Grab 1 or 2 or a the whole crew and enjoy one of the many card or board games that we have for you in the cabin.  Have you ever played Five Crowns?  If not, give it a whirl- you will love it.  Blokus is a wonderful game for 4 players- fun for children AND adults.  Almost all of the games we have here are family favorites at our house.
You will find them here:
arranged neatly on the main floor of the cabin.  There is a table close by that makes game playing easy.
If you want to take them to another level to play that is fine too.  All we ask is that you return them back to the game cabinet before you leave complete with all of the pieces.  It is no fun to get ready to play a game only to find that there are pieces missing!
Games not your thing?  Looking for something quiet and solitary?
This is our selection of books for you to read with a variety of genres and authors.  Did you bring a book and finish it already?  Just pick one of ours.  If you don't finish it before your stay is over, no sweat.  Leave us the book you finished and take the book you started. :)
If you have suggestions for authors, genres or specific book titles that you would like to see here, leave us a comment or send an email.  I am always looking for new books for the cabin.
As soon as I hit send on this post--- I am off to the cabin!!

Rear View

When you come to Pigeon Forge, pencil in a trip to Cades Cove.
This was my first time to visit Cades Cove, but it won't be my last.  We got up a 5 am.  Unfortunately a wrong turn and a need for gas delayed our trip, so we didn't get there are early as we had hoped.
Even still, the morning sky was beautiful and our quest to see a bear was fulfilled.
We knew that we were destined to see a bear as I had no memory card for my camera and the battery was dead.  All I had was my phone's camera and that isn't saying much.  We saw tons of deer, which if you look carefully you can see grazing across this field.
There were also turkeys, with the toms showing off their feathers for the girls.
We saw one bear with a frolicking cub and a coyote.
One bear isn't enough for us, so I am already planning a return trip when my gas tank is full and minus the wrong turn.
It is approximately a 40 minute drive to Cades Cove and depending on the traffic and how quickly or slowly you want to take things, it can take two hours or more to drive the 11 mile loop.  There are stops along the way where you can get out and check out various churches and homes.  Be sure to bring your camera, the scenery is gorgeous.
Here is a link for more information.  We have directions to Cades Cove for you in the manual at our cabin.

He is going to kill me for this but....

This is my 15 year old son.  It was raining while we were there and he took up residence on one of the loveseats.  Of course he was texting most of the time, but I still thought he was sweet snuggled up enjoying the smoky view during the rain.
We have a great Bluff Mountain view- but I especially enjoy it when the smoke rolls in.
We have a couple more trips to make to the cabin before everything is complete and our first guests come to stay.
I can hardly wait.

The Swing is Up!

This was our first purchase for the cabin after our closing.  We loved how comfortable this swing was and that is has built in cup holders!
It is the perfect spot to relax and take in the view.  This photo was taken on a rainy day, look how beautiful the mountains are.
Have you booked your stay with us yet?

New Photos!

This is one of the many new additions we made to the cabin over the weekend.  This cozy seating area is the perfect spot to gather with friends or family and enjoy the mountain view.
We took 2 vehicles, all the kids and my cousin Deena came along to help us with our projects.
We scored a fabulous air hockey table to add to the game room and the rockers that I posted earlier are now in their new home on the front porch keeping the grill company.
My Predators just got knocked out of the NHL playoffs and I am just too sad to write anymore right now. :(
You can find more new photos by visiting our facebook page, just CLICK HERE.  Be sure and like us if you haven't already.  Photos have also been added to our VRBO listing.

Relaxin' and Grillin'

That is what you are going to be doing with these new rocking chairs!
I picked these 2 up yesterday along with a new welcome mat and a bunch of other goodies.
We plan to put these on the deck with the grill so that while you are grillin' you can still be chillin'.  :)
The new bunks and sofa/loveseat have also been ordered as well as the new mattresses and bedding.  I will be taking photos as everything arrives, so be sure and check back often.

It's Official!!

We are finally proud New Cabin Owners!!!
Here is the view we had on closing evening:

We are working hard to make some much needed updates and changes to the cabin.  We will post some photos of the progress as we move along.  I can tell you that there are already new televisions in place, satellite TV is in working order, the swing has been purchased but not yet hung and a large shopping trip to Ogle Furniture has also taken place.
I can hardly wait for the big reveal so that you can see all that we have in store for you.
Also, I just launched our website www.cinematasticview.com, where we have more information for you about our amenities, rates, etc.  The photos are of the cabin as it is currently. It will give you an idea of what to expect, but trust me it is going to be FABULOUS!!
